Sesame Broccoli for the Grand Finale

The girls and I wrapped up this season of Bachelor last night. I never saw the win of the cutthroat model coming, I mean, who would have guessed Ben would chose Courtney and 'the voice'. I was pulling for the nice girl but I guess that wasn't in the cards. Switzerland is insanely beautiful though, so not a complete waste of three hours of my life.

For the grande finale meal all the ladies brought a dish to share and it turned out to be a great collaboration of healthy dishes. This broccoli dish, brought by Sasha, is super easy and so delicious that I had to share.

Sasha...don't kill me for posting this picture.
The recipe is originally from the Best of Bridge but I switched out the sugar for maple syrup and reduced the amount, if you like it a little sweeter add more syrup. Look for the darkest maple syrup you can find, this means that it contains more minerals, which is of course better for you.

Sesame Broccoli
2 pounds broccoli, chopped into small florets
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp rice vinegar
4 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Fill a tea kettle with water and bring to a boil. Place the broccoli in a 9 x 13 pan or similar size dish. When the water has come to a boil, pour the hot water over the broccoli and let sit for 5 minutes. Drain the water and pour over the sesame sauce. Serve.

The Girls
Thanks ladies for some great Monday nights. Now that The Bachelor is over, we have to come up with something else to do on Monday nights. I am sure, if we put all our heads together, we will come up with something.
